Thalipeeth
comes from Maharashtra. A traditional breakfast recipe made using 3 types of
flour (Wheat flour, Jowar flour and Gram flour). It is a kind of pancake. You
can add loads of vegetables for taste and health. You get Thalipeeth Flour very
easily in any supermakerts these days. It is called as Bhajani in Marathi.
My
Grandmother has her own Bhajani recipe. She mixes 4-5 grains like, wheat,
Jowar, Bajra, Rice and Chana Dal. Then to it she adds Roasted cumin, Coriander
seeds and asafetida. It tastes heavenly.
So today
I have cabbage in my refrigerator and onions so I am making Cabbage onion
Thalipeeth. You can make thalipeeth with various combinations- cucumber, onion,
meethi, spinach, carrot etc.
It is
served with a huge dollop of white butter (Makkan/loni) and coriander chutney.
(You can check Chutney Recipe in Recipe Treasure).
