MOONG MEETHI SABJI

Moong Dal and Fenugreek is an amazing combination. We always make those regular combinations- Aloo meethi, Meethi Dal, Lehsuni Meethi etc. So try this unique, different and a very tasty recipe. A very popular dish in North India. This tastes amazing if you use mustard or groundnut oil. As Oil plays very important role for flavoring a dish. You can even make the same recipe using Spinach. This dish goes well with gravies. If you are planning to make Dal makhani or any gravies which are little heavy, Moong Meethi is perfect to balance your plate. So wear your apron and get start making this dish-

INGREDIENTS:-
2 cups fresh Meethi  (Fenugreek), chopped
¼ cup Yellow Split Lentil (Moong Dal)
1 tablespoon Oil
½ teaspoon mustard seeds
½ teaspoon cumin
2-3 dried Red Chili
1 cup Onion, finely chopped
8-10 cloves garlic, finely chopped
½ teaspoon Turmeric
1 tablespoon Peanuts crushed
1 tablespoon Coriander Powder
Salt to taste.

METHOD:-
1.  In a broad pan boil Lentil. Make sure you don’t cook it too much.
2.  It takes around 8-10 minutes, to get Lentil cooked.
3.  Meanwhile, In another pan heat oil.
4.  Add mustard seeds, cumin, whole red chilies and chopped onions.
5.  Saute’ it till onions get little soft, now add chopped garlic and mix it well.
6.  Once onion becomes golden brown add turmeric and chopped Fenugreek.
7.   Add Coriander powder and salt,  mix it well and cover it with lid for about 7-8 minutes.
8.  Now after 7-8 minutes remove the lid, add in crushed peanuts , give it a nice mix.
9.  And sabji is ready to serve.
10.     Serve it with nice soft Makai Roti !
